Creamy Jelly Doughnut Martini with Gelt (Chocolate Coin) Garnish

Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is fast approaching. Like most Jewish holidays it goes something like this, “They tried to kill us, they didn’t, let’s eat”! My favorite foods on Hanukkah are latkes, jelly dougnuts and choclate coins called “Gelt”. The only problem is I am trying to be healthy by staying away from fried foods and dairy, so I decided to celebrate a wonderful treat by making these flavors into a cocktail (non-dairy).

Behold…..Sufgani-tini: Creamy Jelly Doughnut with a “gelt” garnish!

Sufganiot means jelly doughnut in Hebrew. Where is the latke flavor you might ask? Well don’t worry because we have that covered……potato vodka!

Turn on your Chanukkah music, get out your menorah, spin your dreidel as you sip this Macabean delicacy!

  • 1 shot of vodka
  • 1 shot of rasberry liquor (I used DeKuyper raspberry rush schnapps)
  • 1 shot of dark choclate liquor (I used Binyanmina Chocolate Liqeur-non dairy)
  • 1/2 cup of coconut milk (I used Trader Joes unsweetened but for a richer taste use coconut cream from a can)

Combine in a shaker with ice, mix and strain into a chilled martini glass,
Shave some chocolate on top, drop 2 fresh raspberries in and serve with HANUKKAH GELT!
